2nd meeting in Bioethics

The class started at 12:30 and ended up at about 3:3pm. I still wasn't able to buy my bioethics book because I didn't know it was already available at the stuff shop. But even without a book, I still manage to participate in class as if I had one. Ms. Mariael gave me the honor of being the "Powerpoint Man" of the day... haha... Anyway, we started our lecture with basiscs regarding bioethics. For me, Ethics is knowing between right and wrong.. It is like a nursing diagnosis which you can later evaluate if what you did was wright or wrong. Now, adding "bio" to ethics somewhat widens the topic regarding ethics. It is ethics with a touch of "life"; since that is the main point of biology. I also learned that ethics can never be a theory because it is already proven.

People say that ethics and morality are similar. Yes, in some aspects.. But there is a little twist in it. Actually, morality is the application of ethics. It establishes norms or standards for the direction and regulation of human actions.

Lastly, after a ten minute break. We tackled some basic knowledge regarding the "Philosophy of Man".. A quick review since we already had it last semester.

I really enjoyed the discussions and debates and I'm looking forward to have enjoyable lectures again with Ms. Mariael next meeting.
